Letter From the Editors – Summer 2023 Edition

Dear Readers,

We have reached the end of the 2022-2023 school year and the QSInquirer’s introductory year as an operating newspaper. This paper was established to amplify student voices, uncover stories, investigate important topics, and inform the school community through objective reporting. We are greatly appreciative that you have allowed us to utilize your voices to publish reports concerning the truth, equality and justice in our community.

The QSInquirer has achieved so much in the first year of being a functioning newspaper. We were able to publish four exceptional editions. In all the editions, it was capable of amplifying student voices and uncovering the truth about important topics. It received two awards at the Newsies Awards at the Baruch College High School Journalism Conference in March. We launched a multimedia section to our paper which has increased engagement and opened more opportunities for us as a paper.

As we will be up and running once again this fall, we want to encourage any students who are passionate and interested in journalism to join the QSI Press Club next school year. We also want to mention that the Journalism elective class will be continuing for its second year, so please contact your guidance counselor if you’re interested in adding it to your schedule.

We are overall so incredibly proud of our staff members including the QSI Press club members and students of the Journalism class for having such a successful year throughout. We would also like to thank our club advisor and teacher, Ms. Rebore, QSI staff, and students for supporting the paper.

Finally, we want to let you know that we’re accepting Letters to the Editors. Please submit letters, or any questions, comments or concerns, to either one of us via our QSI emails: [email protected] or [email protected].
